Six-Armed Mahakala
Six-Armed Mahakala
A six-armed Mahakala thangka, hand-painted with traditional mineral pigments. As an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the deity wields a vajra chopper and skull bowl while wearing a white elephant skin to subdue obstacles to wealth. Combining the blessings of a财神 (wealth deity) and 战神 (warrior protector), it safeguards devotees by dispelling karmic hindrances and fulfilling the four activities of pacification, enrichment, magnetism, and subjugation.
As a top-tier artist of Tibet’s Mentang school, Master Shida’s creations are deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of this land. With decades of expertise, he carries forward the school’s signature smooth lines and solemn color palettes: from hand-ground mineral pigments like lapis lazuli and malachite, to the strict adherence to the proportional norms of the Measuring Sutra for Buddha figures, every stroke embodies reverence for traditional craftsmanship and a profound understanding of Tibetan Buddhist culture.
These thangkas are more than artworks—they are carriers of the snowy plateau’s spiritual legacy. Shipped directly from their origin in Tibet, they bring the purity and authenticity of this age-old tradition to you, bridging distances with their inherent truth.
